PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

• To assist people to redevelop their skills and find steady employment
• Upgrading or training through a registered or/and post-secondary institutions to provide new skills to facilitate fuller employment
• Program is designed for the individual, noth business
• Training should have a high likelihood of leading to employment

• Participants must be currently on EI or have been on EI in the past 3 years (regular claim) or 5 years (parental or maternity claim)
• Support is based on demonstrated need, not entitlement

• Eligible Costs must be either directly related to or incurred as a direct result of undertaking training, e.g., tuition fees, books, equipment
• Clients will be expected to "buy-in" by making a contribution to the training costs
• "Buy-in" may be "in-kind"
