Our Vision

ASLCS is an effective participant in identifying and providing for the Economic, Social and Physical needs of the residents of Arrow/Slocan/Trout Lakes regions.

  

Mission Statement

ASLCS will actively and continuously participate with other agencies to provide effective, accountable and responsive programs and services to meet the economic, social and physical needs of the Arrow/Slocan/Trout Lakes regions. To this end, ASLCS will maintain an agency which excels in the areas of community vision, administrative expertise, human, physical and financial resource management and Community Board governance.

Core Functions:

  • Identify community needs

  • Access funding (awareness of appropriate funders/programs, writing proposals)

  • Provide human and physical resources

  • Manage financial, human and physical resources

  • Provide governance and policy to manage risk and provide accountability and best practice

  • Provide community leadership in economic, social and physical service activities

Core Values:

  • Operations will demonstrate fiscal responsibility and strict adherence to all legal and legislated regulations

  • Services will be provided equally to all members of the region without discrimination of any sort

  • Services will endeavour to promote client and community capacity building

  • Clients will be treated with respect and their affairs held strictly confidential

  • All services and programs will be provided by well-trained and appropriate employees

  • Employees will be treated with respect and fairness based on accepted ethical principals and guided by current policy, procedure and applicable contracts

  • The Board of Directors will diligently fulfill their responsibilities of governance

  • The agency will maintain an image of approachability and accountability to the community it serves and its employees
